It was great time in Nice. Marvellous location and comfortable bed. Our air-conditioned room was equipped with the basics like a heating system, an electronic key card and a study table.
-
Good base for discovering Nice. The breakfast's price is 8.50 EUR per person.
Small room.

Rooms in Carlton were very clean. Balcony was a GOOD bonus. Lots of restaurants to eat close by, like la villa d'este that was only 5 minutes' walk away.
-
The hotel is in a wonderful place. Beautiful view from the window.
There's no safe or fridge in the room.

Location was good on a tree lined, busy street. It was close to main shopping centre, train station and there were good bars/cafes/restaurants all within easy walking distance. It was clean, and v.comfortable.I upgraded before visit to a superior double as some reviews had stated the small size of some rooms and bathrooms. We were very happy with the size of our room and bathroom, which had a balcony facing the street. Furniture in the room was stylish and modern. We enjoyed our stay at the Carlton and would return.
We did not take breakfast at the hotel. It was continental one at 7.50euros- a reasonable cost.but we prefer just coffee in local cafes. The hotel could improve its' appeal if it offered:- 1. Use of an iron for clients, 2. It had a fridge in the room, 3.Offered internet use to clients.

Huge difference between interior and exterior rooms.interior rooms are in a really bad conditions.i asked for a chante of room and the exterior room was ok.
-
The only thing that the Carlton has going for it is it's in a fairly central location.
Lack of facilities, wifi was available but unable to login. Resturaunt? was there one? Couldn't even get a coffee at 6pm. No services in the hotel were made apparent on arrival. I have stayed in a number of hotels in Nice but this has to be the poorest one yet.

Location--good fof train/bus station promenade restaurants old town
Stayed for 7 nights no change of bedding.

Location is quite good, parking is available, though it's quite expensive, 18 Euro per hour. Room are a bit old fashioned, but quite ok. I had a bathroom in my room.
Walls are like a paper, breakfast is poor (usual France) and expensive. There are no king size bad and WiFi is not available on the third floor - poor connection quality.
-
Great place to stay for the price. The front desk was incredibly helpful and spoke English for all the travelers who's French is lacking :-) Great location in a beautiful part of town close to the main drag for eating and sunning. We lucked out finding this place so if you do enjoy! One thing the bathrooms didn't have shower curtains so you have to be a little creative in that area...

Small rooms, but clean. Location is excellent and shopping area, the old town and the beach are all within short walking distance. Many rooms have a balcony.
Rooms are old and unupdated.

Convenient location to hike Cinque Terre, right near train station to all 5 major villages on the hike, nice beach and only a few minutes walk, quiet village.
No hot water to shower, very bad. After 1 minute shower went cold and the boiler for hot water made loud noises enough to wake you. Toilet seat doesnt stay up, no bath mats and shower leaks all over floor due to poor design of shower screen so had to use hand towel as floor mat. No bath towels, very strange they use white linen tablecoths as towels, never experienced this anywhere in the world. Bed lined wasnt changed 2nd day, tiled floor was filthy with grit, bare feet were black from dirt on the floor, second day it still wasnt swept nor vacuumed. Breakfast is included and very basic, no tea had to use own. When I complained the guy on reception took the price of my meal the night before off the bill which was something and was apologetic, however, 3 days of cold showers was enough!!
-
7 minute walk to train station. Within 10 minute to Nice city center where all the restaurants and bars are! 5 minute walk to the beach. Overall location is a satisfaction, considering its price. Nice hotel staff, free internet! And the balcony outside our room!
Don't expect a fancy, brand-new furbished room.
-
Very good location, 10 minutes walk to the sea, 10 minutes to the station.
The building is old enough and some facilities are not in the best condition.

Double Room/Twin Room are regarded as both the same. It is a room for two people we were told. So a double room could be with twin beds or a double bed. Rooms with garden views are not!! They are rooms on the main road overlooking the park that can't be seen due to a large roadside tree. All in all if you want a couple of nights where you are only going to require somewhere to sleep this hotel is ok. If you are fussy don't go there but you will need to pay at least double the rates of this hotel.
